Cupping Therapy in Midlothian

If you’ve been dealing with stubborn muscle tension, overuse injuries, or lingering discomfort that won’t go away, cupping therapy at Advanced Care Chiropractic and Wellness Center offers a gentle, effective option.

This time-tested technique brings fresh circulation to damaged tissue, supporting your body’s natural healing response and helping you return to the activities you enjoy.

Whether you’re an athlete in training, recovering from a soft tissue injury, or simply managing everyday muscle strain, cupping can help restore comfort and function.

How Cupping Works to Support Healing

Cupping therapy uses specially designed cups that create a gentle vacuum on your skin, drawing blood flow to the affected area. This increased circulation delivers vital nutrients and oxygen to damaged muscle fibers while helping reduce inflammation.

By targeting specific areas of tension or injury—whether in your back, shoulders, legs, or arms—cupping supports faster, more complete healing. Many patients find it especially helpful when combined with other care options in our office.

A Simple, Comfortable Process

Your first cupping session begins with a focused evaluation to locate your soft tissue injury or tension. After cleaning the area, Dr. Tyson applies several cups using a vacuum pump that gently lifts the skin into each cup. The number of cups used depends on the size and location of your concern.

The cups typically remain in place for a few minutes while you relax on the table. Afterward, we remove them and clean the area. The entire process usually takes about 25 to 30 minutes. You may notice temporary discoloration afterward—that’s simply increased blood flow working to heal the area. We recommend staying well-hydrated and avoiding strenuous activity that day.

Combining Cupping With Other Therapies

At Advanced Care Chiropractic and Wellness Center, we often use cupping alongside dry needling or chiropractic adjustments to address both muscle and structural issues. This integrated approach means you benefit from multiple techniques working together for more complete relief and better long-term results.
